Images of Morocco
Just a short boat trip from southern Spain, Morocco is a different world, with sights, sounds, and aromas that have captured the imaginations of adventurers for centuries. Its ancient cities have at their heart a medina, a walled maze of crowded, narrow streets and alleyways, free of automobile traffic, where the donkey and the bicycle are the main means of transporting goods. Lining the cobblestone passageways are thousands of souks, or market stalls, where food, spices, clothing, and all manner of goods are bartered.
